Oracle Data File Size in WAS 620

We are planning to install SAP in HP-UX 11.11 64 bit environment.

One thing we dicussed is what size of Oracle data file is suitable for SAP ?

Usually, we created 2GB Oracle data file but we are expecting that our database increase to 2TB.

Is there any limitation for Oracle data file size in SAP environment ?

Please recommend suitable oracle space management strategy.

Regards, Arnold.

    Hi Arnold ,

There's no problem at all with large datafiles for example we use datafiles with the size of 10 Gb

    -rw-r----- 1 orahbp dba 10737418240 Jan 10 11:30 hbpods.data10

The only thing you must talk with your hp-ux admin that the filesystems must be created with blocksize 8192 and

    the option largefiles.
