Dolores,

I suggest to upgrade to sp9 or sp10 directly. This should solve your problem.

Dolores,

Where are you in the installation process?

Have you configured the necessary parameters in the J2ee stack as mentioned in the notes.

hi,

i can't get a connection to the j2ee server at all. i got as far as the 'start j2ee server' in the installation of sp10. all the size parameters seem fine. any other ideas???

thank you,

Dolores,

As I understand, you have already patched the J2ee stack, and you want to restart now. After the restart you want to apply . sda's???

If I'm right, please check the bootstrap logfiles in the work directory. Is there any error in there.

Have you checked the mem settings from note 709140?

when i start the j2ee cluster, as in, startsap, the j2e does not stay started. i can see the processes during the startup but as soon as the startup is done, the processes stop and i get the following error in the dev_jcontrol file:

[Thr 1] JStartupICreateProcess: fork process (pid 13824)

[Thr 1] Tue Jan 25 08:25:07 2005

[Thr 1] *** ERROR => invalid return code of process [bootstrap] (exitcode=254) [jstartxx_mt. 1452]

[Thr 1] JControlExecuteBootstrap: error executing bootstrap node [bootstrap] (rc=254)

[Thr 1] JControlCloseProgram: started (exitcode = 254)

[Thr 1] JControlCloseProgram: good bye... (exitcode=254)

i'm looking over the memory settings now but, not being real familiar with all this, they look ok. i would appreciate any help you can give.

thanks,

dolores

Dolores,

The note I mentioned before, descibes the settings, and the place to set them. The errors seem to be related to the memory config.

it was a combination of 3 or 4 different things. it's now all installed and working.
