Using Crystal Reports with BW 3.1

Hi,

We are planning to integrate Crystal Reports with our BW system. According to SAP doc. we first need to install CE "Crystal Enterprise". As far as I know, Crystal Enterprise 10 is only available in windows platforms. However, Crystal Enterprise – Enhanced SAP Edition is supported for both windows and Unix platforms. Q: Can we install the enhanced SAP edition directly on Unix without installing CE 10. If CE 10 is required how can we use CE - SAP edition on Unix? Please advice …

Thanks in advance ...

Hi Dave,

No, you can not intall Crystal Enterprise Enhanced SAP Edition without CE 10 as CE10 is a core part of the Enhanced SAP Edition.

Crystal Enterprise 10 Enhanced SAP Edition (CE ESE) consists of Crystal Enterprise 10, Crystal Reports 10 and an add-ons disk for the two products that provides SAP specific components.

CE ESE is available for Windows, Sun Solaris, IBM AIX and Linux Redhat. Only if you are using the OEM version of CE SAP Edition that comes with BW you are restriced to Windows.

Using the resell version you are free to choose the platform.

Hope that helps,

Thomas

Hi Dave

We have a similiar requirement where we need to use Crystal reports 9.0 as reporting tool for our BW 3.1C. Can you tell me what are the configuration that needs to be done in BW and crystal reports to enable the same ?

If you could share any document on the same, I would very much appreciate

Thanks and Regards

Hi Arun,

Have a look at the CDs that come along in the BW box.

You should find the software and documentation for Crystal Enterprise SAP Edition.

The installation guide on the CD Crystal Enterprise SAP Add-ons contains all the configuratoin information.

Hope that helps,

Thomas
