CNXSRV.dll missing in BO 4.0 designer.exe does not start

Hi,

I installed BO 4.0 in windows server 2008 and everything including information design tool, webi, cmc is working but the Universe design tool(designer.exe). from some of the previous post i thought it was an issue with its drivers being 64 bit which i changed to 32 bit and still have same issue. Please help its been a while now and no result.

this is the error.

The program cant start because cnxsrv.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix the problem.

I did try reinstalling it once but results were same. Universe design tool is not working and everything else is working fine.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had same issue but also had another desktop where universe designer was working ok. I copied this dll and also rptdisp.dll from the working machine to,

C:\Program Files\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\wind32_x86

i don't why these dlls were copied their by installer - it maybe a corrupt download or a patch install failed.

A bit of a workaround I know...

Users of BOE 4.0 current should all have a support contract. please log a case in SMP and a Rep will contact you to discuss the issue.
