SAP Note 39412 - How many work processes should be configured?

Hi Anyone tried with an addional application server only with BG work processes ? . This will be my fifth new SAP application server

rdisp/wp_no_btc = 30

rdisp/wp_no_dia=0

rdisp/wp_no_vb=0

rdisp/wp_no_vb2=0

rdisp/wp_no_enq=0

rdisp/wp_no_spo=0

SAP recommends Note 39412 - How many work processes should be configured?

So each of our application servers have combination of DIA,BTC,

VB2,VB,SPO processes

There is no SAP note specifies that you can remove all the BTC work

processes from all application servers and configure one powerful serverwith lots of BTC processes.

I want to allocate one application server exclusively for BTC and all other application servers for DIA,VB,VB2,SPO,ENQ

I want to make rdisp/wp_no_btc=0 in all application servers. and create a new powerful application server with only rdisp/wp_no_btc=30.

has anyone tried like this?

Hi, Thanks for your answers. I got an answer from SAP support that I can have a separate SAP application servers which is exclusively for Background processing. There are few customers who have this kind of configurations....

Well,

If you have one single app server for batch processing, you will create a Single Point of Failure.

You should have at least 2 app servers with background processes.

I'm planning to do the same thing you did. Could you please share with me the solution you have?

I one to dedicate one app server for batch jobs and the other 2 apps for dialogs.

Could you please share with me how you set up the number for each process on each apps servers and the CI as well.
