Hi,
I am loading data for infosource 2lis_11_vaitm to PSA.In Initialize delta,There are two options:
Initialize without data transfer and
Early delta initialization
Which is the option should i select?
Thanks in advance.
Haarika.
The EARLY DELTA INITIALIZATION is used to admit document postings in the OLTP system as early as possible during the initialization procedure. If an early delta initialization InfoPackage was started in BW, data may be written immediately (after the end of the setup table recompilation run) to the delta queue of the central delta management.
When you use the "direct delta" update method in the logistics extraction, you do not have to wait for the successful conclusion of all delta Init requests in order to readmit document postings in the OLTP if you are using an early delta initialization.
When you use the "queued delta" update method, early delta initialization is essentially of no advantage because here, as with conventional initialization procedures, you can readmit document postings after successfully filling the setup tables.
The INIT WITHOUT DATA TRANSFER allows to activate delta channel for a specific flow, but without any record loaded in your BW.
This method can be useful if in your BW you have to reactivate delta flow between ODS and Cube and this last one already have all the records contained in the ODS...or if you want to activate at once your delta channel with R/3 and, only in a subsequent moment, you will load all data with a full dataload...

Hi Haarika,
neither flag have to be checked if:
° you need to transfer data (Initialize without data transfer) and
° you are using in R/3 (LBWE for 11 application componenent datasources) queued delta method (Early delta initialization)
Hope it helps !
Bye,
Roberto
