Migratining from Windows to Unix

Hi All,

We are planning to migrate from Windows to Unix.

its been nearly 2 years we went live.

what would be the role of Abapers in this Migration, any serious issues will be threre?

please advice...?

    I have both a Windows and Unix based SAP system landscape. I move ABAP programs back and forth between the two landscapes all the time. If your program are written to account for this, there is nothing that must be done to the code to adapt it for the different OS.

    Make sure that you have used SAP Platform Independent File Names (transaction FILE and function module FILE_GET_NAME) when when reading and writting from the OS.

    If you are executing OS command from your ABAP programs make sure they are setup in SM69 and called via function modules from function group SXPT. If you follow these rules, migration should almost be a non event.
