It's my understanding the indexes on an aggregate's F partitions are dropped automatically when the rollup runs and rebuilt afterwards. So you shouldn't have to worry about them in a process chain. I'm assuming you are talking about a daily load process chain, rather than trying to create some periodic aggregate index drop/rebuild proces chain.

I did see in a recent Note 778709 which supports this view, and as of 3.1 SP19 you will have an option to turn off the automatic drop/rebuild. Presumably you might want that option with a large aggregate, but where the dail insertion volume is light and you don't want to expend the resources to rebuild the index every day.

    Hi Supriatna,

In the Process Types, u have Data Target Adminstration, where in you can find various options like...

    Delete Index,

    Generate Index,

    Construct Database Statistics,

    Initial fill of New Aggregartes,

    Rollup of filled Aggregates,

    Compression of Infocubes,

    Activate ODS object and

    Complete Deletion Data Targets.

I hope this information could help you..

      Hi Supriatna,

right sequence to follow when you build your own process chain is something like this:

      Drop (delete) Indices,

      Load into PSA,

      Load into ODS,

      Activate Data in ODS,

      Load into Cube (further update),

      Build Indices (generate),

      Build DB Statistics,

      Roll up Aggregates

However, remember that processes 'Delete Indexes' (before the InfoPackage) and 'Build Index' (after the InfoPackage) are automatically inserted into your process chain after 'Execute InfoPackage' process insert.

Hope it helps (and don't forget to assign some points by clickin'on the yellow star to the contributors that help you !!!)
