deletion of master data

Hi

We do not have BW-Q/A.

So i am deleting all master data in the objects(which has master data from dev R/3_,so that i can load r/3 Q/A data which is our PRODR/3 replica.

First i deleted all the data in the info providers and trying to delete master data from the objects.

So when i do this,it asks

Do you want to delete only the contents of the fact table

in InfoCube, or do you want to delete the dimension tables as well?

So i select fact and dim tables as well.

It asks do you want to delete contents of the cube?I say yes.

It says

nfoCube/ODS object contents are to be deleted !

There are still dependent table entries for this InfoCube/ODS

Example control entries for scheduled actions

Logs Just as Rollup, Compressing, Reconstruction...

Also delete these entries ?

Possible scheduled actions must be rescheduled afterwards

I say delete entries.

It gives a list data base tables deleted and recreated.

It says content of the cube successfully deleted.

So is this the right way?

Is there any way i can delete all the master data content in one shot, instead of going to each and every object and deleting the content of cube, content of ODS,content of Master data...

Sorry for the long mail

But i wanted to know what goes on actually.

Thanks.

Haarika.

Hi Haarika,

as already discussed before in these forums, you have to delete content for every provider in which there are data related to your master data..there is no choice !!!

You can use a pgm in which, in a loop with all the providers, you can use FM 'RSAU_INFOCUBE_CONTENT_DELETE' (with some adjustment in which you can delete all the FMs POPUP_TO_CONFIRM_STEP that are the reason of several pop-ups)...but I don't think it's a useful way...

Bye,

Roberto

If you will have to do this on several occasions in order to repeat testing, it may be worth your effort to create process chains to perform the deletions.

Like this you will also be certain not to miss out something.
