Hello,

Sub Periods Select one of the following options. This setting determines the number of additional posting periods to be created automatically by SAP Business One:

Year u2013 Choose this option to manage a single period during a fiscal year. SAP Business One will not create additional posting periods automatically when choosing this option.

Quarters u2013 Choose this option to manage 4 posting periods during a fiscal year. When you choose Quarters, the number 4 is entered automatically in the No. of Periods field and SAP Business One creates 4 new posting periods respectively.

Months - Choose this option to manage 12 posting periods during a fiscal year. When you choose Months, the number 12 is entered automatically in the No. of Periods field and SAP Business One creates 12 new posting periods respectively.

Days u2013 When you choose this option, the No. of Periods field becomes active. Enter the number of required posting periods. SAP Business One will then create respective periods. For example, if you need to manage one posting period per week, enter 52 in the No. of Periods field. SAP Business One will then create 52 periods; one for each week.

When you select an entry that consists of more than one posting period, the value entered in the field Period Code will then be used as the base code for creating the codes of the additional posting periods. For example, if 2006 is entered as the Period Code and the value Quarters is selected in the field Sub-Periods, the codes of the four new posting periods would be 2006-1, 2006-2 and so on.

Hi Rashmi ,

The sub period only refers you to the Date Range for Entries .

This does not have any effect on the Balance sheet etc .

Whatever will be the Date Range selection in the Report Selection Criteria , It will return the report Like Wise .

IT WILL NOT EFFECT THE BALANCE SHEET ETC.

Thanks

Hi Rashmi........

There is no effect on Balance Sheet.

But it will affect the Period End Close Process.

Affect in the sense you can end the period as per No. of Posting periods you created......

Rahul

Hi Rashmi.......

Everyone is clearly mentioning there is no effect on balance sheet as balance sheet works on a particular till to date.

The periods only affects your Period End Close Process......

There is no adverse effect.....

The proper answer to your question is:

If you choose yearly, you will not be able to get monthly balance sheet!!!

Please do not use all capital. It is very rude for posting.

Thanks,

Gordon

Hi Rashmi...........

All these we Period Types we use for in posting period where somebody wants his Financial Legal Reports to be run as per Monthly So, Posting Period will be 12 or somebody want it yearly So, Posting Period will be 1, or somebody wants it quarterly So, Posting Period will be 4 or somebody wants it Daily (Sub Period) So, Posting Period will be 365.

It can be as per desire and as per business need how they want to post their transactions in SAP.

If you use monthly then you can lock the period monthwise if you use same yearly you can not lock the user to make the entries till year ends same way in Quarter and in subperiod.

Rahul
