Business Objects Advanced Analysis

Hi All,

We are using Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 - SP 3 and BW 7.1 and I would like to know if we can use Business Objects Analysis 1.0, Edition for MS Office or Analysis 1.1, Edition for MS Office .

1 ) Is there any blogs in relation - How to add analysis workbook infoview and accessing analysis workbook from infoview.

2 ) Transport mechanism for advanced analysis through LCM or SAP BW

Regards

Subbu

SAP BO analysis, edition for Office should work fine, but I am not sure of OLAP edition.

SAP BO analysis, edition for Office is an add-on to excel, like BEx Analyzer. You can publish it to Infoview like any document and if user has installation on his / her desktop, they can use the analysis workdown for further drag / drop / drilling.

SAP BO analysis, edition for OLAP is created and saved on InfoView and like WeBi report, does not need desktop installation.

2 ) Transport mechanism for advanced analysis through LCM or SAP BW

LCM: First transport OLAP connection in CMC and then the Analysis

You need to understand that SAP BO Analysis can connect to not only SAP cubes / queries, but other cubes as well (e.g. MS SQL cube)

If you are using OLAP edition, you need to define OLAP connection in CMC. The OLAP connection can point to a BW system, a BW cube or a BW Query. So at least one connection to server needs to be defined in CMC. It can also connect to SQL Server cubes. No universe is necessary.

If you are using OFFICE edition, you need not have OLAP connection. It can use connections defined in SAP GUI. Bt this will connect to SAP BW only, not MS SQL. Office edition can also use OLAP connections in CMC to connect to other cubes like SQL Server

For creating OLAP connections refer to document:
