My PO should start with A followed by 5 digits like A00001 to A99999 is it possible to have this type of internal number range

You can define the number range via Customization
Follow the SPRO>MM>Purchasing>Purchase Order>Define Number Ranges
Change Intervals
Add an interval like you wanted A00001 to A99999 thick the Ext (External button)
Systematically it is not possble to define your alphanumeric interval as internal number range
I mean you can define the range but you must give the PO number manually!
So with the relevant user exit it may be possible to define your alphanumeric interval as internal number range.

Alpha numeric numbers are not possible to be defined for internal number range, create one for External number and try with exit MM06E003 with the ABAP guy to get a logic developed for this.

u define the number range like tat only, and assign for ur PO document like u do for general.
