Difference Between Master Warranty & Normal Warranty

Hi Experts,

What are the differents between Master Warranty (created through BGM1 T-code ) & Putting just warranty start & End date in equipment Master data.Why we create Master Warranty separately through BGM1 and assign warranty No. in equipment master Field.

Hi,

If you just need a simple warranty to cover a period of time then it is sufficient to just enter the dates on the equipment record. If the warranty is more complex with multiple conditions (maybe period of time and counter readings) then you will need to specify these details in a master warranty.
