Hi Friends,
While doing functional upgrade from 3.5 to 7 dataflow, I didn't get any popup to create a transport request. I need to know if at all this new data flow can be migrated into production or that I need to carry same steps in production as well.
Note: The transport pop-up thing is working fine otherwise and in all other cases whenever any change is made.
Thanks,
BJ!
you will have to replicate the datasource ( which is usually manually done in the production system)- when you do the replication - replicate manually and use te 7.0 option there.... once ths is done - send in your transformations / dtp etc etc...

Hi Arun,
Well good that you raised this point.
I am wondering that replicating it before transporting won't be required because when we move other transports with transfer rules/transformations replication is taken care off along.
Moreover, I have read that one should first migrate the upgrade rules and last the datasource - if we do this most of ABAP coding is migrated along. However, if datasource is migrated first then all abap coding have to be re-written as per bw 7 oops standard.
Any more thoughts on this....?
Check in transport connection of BI whether the "standard method" switched on or not. If standard switched off, all new objects will be assigned to package $tmp and hence not transportable. You see the transport setting in:
RSA1 --> Transport connection --> Edit --> Transport --> Switch off standard (this should not be flaged)

Hi BJ,
Try creating transport requests using Transport Connection in the workbench after migration. Select 'Dataflow Upwards and Downward' for Grouping.
Hope it helps.
Thanks,
Abhishek.
