SAP on Hyper-v Virtual machine performace?

We are about to upgrade to ERP 6 withe EHP 4. and i want to have the advantage of virtualization. And my question is about the performance when doing this. We have a new server 2xCPU with the total of 12 cores. But in hyper-v I can only allocate 4 virtual cpuu2019s (vCPU) and to my knowledge this is the same as physical coreu2019s so when I create a new virtual machine for my SAP production server I am trying to give it as much power as possible but when I give it 4 vCPUu2019s it says Percent of total system resources 32% and sounds very low to me.

Does anybody have any experience in doing this and should this be enough for a production system? Or any recommendation s for doing this. I am only going to run 1 virtual machine on the Hyper-V server for the production system of SAP ERP and have the same setup for dev, qa and SolMan except that they are sharing the same Hyper-V server.

Hyper-V server spec:

2x Intel Xeon E5649 @2.53 GHz

32GB RAM

And I am using local disks not SAN at the moment.

Regard

Anders

I'd start with

Note 1246467 - Hyper-V Configuration Guideline

Note 1570141 - Key Figures of Virtualization on Hyper-V

and check, whether your configuration is according to those guidelines.
