Issue in COPA

Dear All,

i have an issue in COPA. Certain revenue cost elements (CE category 11) wherein initial cost object would be cost center and thereafter through Assessment and distribution cycles it should flow to Internal orders. From Internal orders the value to be flown to COPA. However, the issue is that these cost elements are not even being considered in the assessment and distribution cycles and as such not flowing to COPA.

On further checking I find that in almost all cases these relevant cost centers have unchecked revenue postings. Which means even if revenue is posted to these cost centers it is only statistical right? This is my first question. Secondly can assessment and distribution happen on statistical postings?

Can i ask the client to book these revenues (mostly other income like commissionn, Duty drawback etc) directly to an Internal Order?

Can we take profit center route?

Can you throw some light on this?

Thanx in advance,

Best Regards,

B.Ramkumar

HI Bala

Welcome to SDN

Please edit your post and remove your contact details as this violates the forum rules

1. For the postings happened till now, you can use KB61 and repost the revenue to COPA... However, if the no of such postings are huge, use KE21N as suggested above

2. Way forward in my opinion should be message KI 166 should be restored to E in OBA5 so that you wont be able to post revenues w/o entering a True Object

Hi,

1. Revenue can only be posted to cost centers statistically

2. Assessment does not happen for statistical postings

3. When celem category is 11 why do you not post directly to COPA i.e what is the real account assignment here ? If the posting happened directly to COPA there would be no need for you to go thro this big circus

Hi

You cannot allocate statistical cost posted to a cost center. For the costs booked till date, use transaction code KE21N to update COPA Manually. The way forward:

1. Create New Cost Elements with category 1. However, personally, I would not go for it, if the same Cost Elements are also used for SD flow, since it will create problems there

2. Another way is to book the same against an internal order and than settle to COPA. You may also refer note 605281 and see if IO can be used in Assesement rule KEU5.
