Dear Gurus,
Our company wants to approve a PO by a different person only if the value of the PO increases. We have created a release strategy with to release codes. If PO price increases it has to go to a different person. Can you please let me know how to achieve this .
Thanks & Best Regards,
Chamee
Hi,
It can be achieved by creating 1 more release strategy having different release code and value greater than previous strategy..
Example:
Existing Release Strategy: Group A1, Strategy B1 having release code L1 & L2 for PO value say less than or eqaul to 10,00,000 INR.
New Release Strategy : Group A1, Strategy B2 having release code L1 & L3 for PO value greater than 10,00,000 INR.
First person will be having L2 approval authorizations while another person will be having L3 level authorizations.

Hi,
While configuring the release codes, you would have come across changeability indicator,
http://it.toolbox.com/wiki/index.php/Release_Procedure_for_Purchase_Orders
Pasting relevant content below
Release indicators
A release indicator shows the release status of a PO.
Via the following settings, you can define the release indicators you need for your release procedure
The Released indicator is used to specify whether messages (PO documents in output format) may be transmitted for a purchase order with this indicator.
The Changeability indicator shows the effect of changes to the PO (a change to a PO may require a new release strategy to be determined, for instance).
By means of the Value change indicator, you can specify that the release strategy is to be re-started if a PO is changed and the value of a PO item thereby increases by a certain percentage (e.g. 10%). Set the Changeability indicator to "4 - Changeable, new release in case of new strategy or value change" or "6 - Changeable, new release in case of new strategy or value change/outputted" and enter a percentage in the Value change field.
In case this does not help you, please let me know, I will try and explain it better.
Regards
Shailesh

Hi,
Suppose you have set a strategy like this
Strategy 1Below 50k Approved by A, then by B finally
Strategy 2 50k-100k Approved by B and then by C finally
Strategy 3100k onwards approved by C and by D finally
So if someone modifies the P.O which was under 50k and makes it 55k, Then release strategy 2.
When you configure release strategy, you define a group, then you define release codes, which is basically a description.
The next step is to configure release indicator, these appear on the p.o as Blocked or released or on hold etc, depending on the way you configure.
Here you will notice that there is a column called chgable,
1Cannot be changed
2Changeable, no new determination of strategy
3Changeable, new release in case of new strategy
4Changeable, new release in case of new strat. or val. change
5Changeable, new release if new strategy/outputted
6Changeable, new rel. if new strat. or value change/outputted
You would need to set the changeability indicator to 4, here when there will be a value change, a new release would be called for, when either there is a value change, or if the P.O is changed in such a way that a new strategy is called.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
These should help too
