Implementation of BW Personalization ODS

Hi all,

I am trying to install business content for 0PERS_WTE, 0PERS_BOD, 0PERS_VAR ODSs. When I try to install the business content for these ODS I am not finding any update rules or transfer rules even when I select grouping of i data flow before and after. I have activated personalization settings in SPRO.

Please let me know if I am missing something....help from anyone who implemented these ODS will be appreciated.

Hi!

I have implemented this "extension" for Personalization in our systems: I created "sister" or copy ODS of the 3 SAP-delivered personalization ODSs. I periodically push the data from the SAP ODS to the "custom" ones, then you can run reports. It's not "pretty" but it works. Hopefully, SAP will deliver broader features in 3.5 or beyond.

By the way, do you know that you can load data to the SAP ODSs to "create" personalization for users, behind the scenes. We have not yet had any business needs to use this approach, but it's possible.

Hi,

the personalization ODS is updated directly with an ABAP report without any update rules.

Follow the steps to activate the personalization from the help.sap.com documention:

You can check the pers. data by administration the ODS object. To initialize with default values, you can upload the ODS with a flatfile...

There is no Update rules, etc for these ODSs. These ODSs are directly updated, I guess. Ensure that you activated the personalization w/o any errors in SPRO. Then, Personalization features in BEx should work.
