Need to capture the COPA values for a balance sheet item

Dear All

I am aware that fundametally there is no need to create cost objects for a balance sheet g/l account and SAP does not allow it unless for asset accounts.

However, there is a requirement for our client to capture theCOPA characteristics for a balance sheet item.

They make a product wise reserve in the balance sheet , which would partiallyu get reversed later, and they need to monitor the reserve product wise.

ANy idea how we can capture this requirement?

Hi Gayani,

When you are creating reserves for product, what JV you would post in system? You Dr P&L a/c and Cr Balance sheet Reserves a/c? If this is the process than you can maintain P&L account in COPA PA transfer structure and create new value field as per requirement or use existing one value field.

After maintaining the above settings and when you try to post JV to create reserves system demands to enter Characteristics, then here you can entre product related characteristics.
