Customizing Activities Cross Clients

Hello,

Is it possible to understand if a customizing activity will have impact on all the clients?

Thanks a lot in advance

Kind Regards,

Emanuela

    Hi,

All customizing settings (activities) are saved in Tasks under Transport Requests.

Unless the Tasks/Transport Requests are released the customizing settings will not move to other clients. That means they do not impact other clients.

In case if you have done any settings by opening the client (without transport request), such settings are only in that client and do not effect other clients.

    Hi ,

generally customizing activities are client dependent and are save in the transport request . so that the same can be transported to other clients and instances ( Quality and production for eg. ) .

Secondly , during customizing if you get a message like " Table is cross client or the activity is cross client " then that would mean that if you make an entry in the table then all the clients will have the entry on the same instance , for Eg. Development instance has 3 client lets say 100 , 110 , 120 . so there would be an entry in all the clients .

But it would have no impact on other instances like quality or production .

    Hope it clarifies .

    Cheers ,

    Dewang
