how to charge unplanned cost on Asset

Hello experts,

I have a purchse order (import) having Asset, and its GRIR still pending. But there is unplanned cost of freight charges involve in it that i want to charge on Asset, kindly help me how to charge it during MiRO?

Hi

You have the following options:

1. Since the GRN has not been done yet, modify the PO and add the freight Condition as a delivery condition. There after do MIGO and MIRO

2. Based on your system configuration, as to how, the unplanned cost should be posted and if the Invoicing party is same as the main vendor, you can post it as unplanned cost, which is available under the Details Tab in MIRO. The config for the treatment of Unplanned Cost is maintained under:

IMG>Materials Managent> Logistic Invoice Verification>Incoming Invoice> Configure how unplanned delivery costs are posted

3. If the GRN has been done, than you have the option of passing it as a subsequent credit and during the booking of the same change the invoicing party to Freight Vendor under the details tab.

The best option is the Option No 1.

Hi Saqib,

As you are saying that MIRO is pending.. i assume GRN is already done.. In that case, post the amount as Unplanned cost in MIRO and it should get capitalized....

Secondly, You can also modify your Acct Assgn Catg A to capitalize the asset @ the time of MIRO so that Asset Value + Freight gets capitalized at the same time. But with this setting, you must ensure that at the month/year end.. all your GR/IR Assets is cleared and should have no open item as that would mean Assets received but not yet capitalized..

OR

You can also use ABSO transaction to capitalize the additional cost on the Asset.

If PO has not been released then you can change conditions in PO for the amount of freight. Otherwise you need to do the MIGO and put this amount in unplanned delivery cost while doing MIRO.
