SEM - BPS Web interface (Planning layout not available )

Hi :

Can some one help me to figure out the problem I am getting in the web interface, "Planning layout not avaible" when I click Display preview button. Is there any checks/settings required to display plan data in the web layout.

The steps I followed to create web interface:

1) create application

2) create sub component on page

3) create tab strip

4) create tab

5) create subcomponent ( Planning Layout)

6) Provided Planning area, level, package and layout

7) click on display preview

Then it says Planning layout not available

NOTE: [I created planning area, level, package and layout from planning work bench and loaded data to the cube also. I could see the data from the manual planning layout.]

Your help in this regard is highly appreciated.

Hello Venkat,

Upon starting the web interface tries to get the data from the planning layout. If any error occurs then the error message "Planning layout not available" is shown instead of the layout.

If you have included the message tray into the web interface you should get some more detailed information about what was the problem. If you haven't done that yet please change your web interface by including a message try (subcomponent) and try again. You can even click on the messages to get more detailed information.

If you do not find any additional information you should:

- Try if the layout can be used without any problems in the BPS0.

- Have a look at the number of header combinations - i.e. the possible combinations of characteristic values for the characteristics in the header. In a web interface the header characteristics must all be restricted to a single value. You can test that in the BPS0 - call up the layout in execution mode and have a look for the up and down arrow right above the layout. If they are black then there are several header combinations and you can navigate through them.

- If you use variables for characteristics in the header and the variable is not yet restricted to a single value the data cannot be selected.

- Maybe another user is already processing the same data and there is a user lock.

This are the most common reasons why a web interface cannot be shown. I hope this will help you solve the problem.

You have put me in the right direction..

The issue is with the possible combinations of characterstic values for the chracterstic header. I have restricted them at planning level and planning package..
