Hi,
Can someone help me understand the difference/meaning between Shipping Condition and Shipping Type on Sales Order? For example, is Shipping Condition same as service (Air, Ground, Pick-up) whereas Shipping Type is same as mode of transport (Truck, Mail, Train)?
Thanks,
KAM
hi..
Shipping conditions are used to define an specific handle of the goods or even to determine a route. Since Shipping Conditions are a must have for Routing they are important for the Shipping Department.
Shipping Type are the types or ways for handle Shipments (Rail,Truck, etc) So, in order to have a best practice for Shipments you will need to re-define your routes.
Thanks..

Let me be sure I understand. So, I could set up the following for example? In other words, Shipping Condition and Shipping Type should not necessarily match, rather Shipping Condition most critical from Route perspetive, whereas Shipping Type is the method as described.

02 Pick-up
03 Ground

10 Sat Delivery
11 Intn'l Express
12 Intn'l Economy
13 Next Day AM
ST Description

02 Mail
03 Train
04 Sea
05 Air
Y1 Standard

Y3 Ground
Hi Xperts,
Does shipping type depend upon the shipping condition exisitng in Delivery. If the Shipping Condition is suppose Road ,can the shipping type be Sea?
I have a Shipment created from an Inbound Delivery. The shipping type in that Delivery is blank, but shipping condition is SEA.When user created the shipment , it took the shipping condition SEA but Shipping Type ROAD.When we are trying to change that a POP-UP message is coming ,that is copy shipment tye from Delivery. If we check this indicator system does not make any changes.Cold you please advice?

Soumick
Shipping Condition
Through this, you define the system to determine shipping point and also it plays an important role in Route Determination.
Shipping Type
Through this, you define the system the mode of despatch of cargo like by Air, By Sea, By Road etc.
