Hi,

351 -

1. This MvT brings stock of materials in transit and then receiving plant has to receive the stock of material via MvT 101.

2. Its a 2-step stock transfer process.

3. Stock Transport Order is pre-requiiste for this.

4. Additionally, you can plan the delivery cost/freight in STPO if involved in stock transfer process and pay the same to a transsporter via MIRO.

5. In case of excisable materails, you can generate the outgoing excise invoice based on the 351 Mat Doc in transaction J1IS.

301 -

1. 1-Step Stock Transfer Process

2. No Tracking of Stock in Transit

3. Not Possible to plant delivery cost/freight

4. Not Possible to create exicse invoice

Note: - Accounting Entry will remain same in the cases as following;

Stock Account - Dr - Receiving Plant
Stock Account - Cr - Supplying Plant

Difference between Movement types 301 and 351

Movement type 301

One step stock transfer between two plants

Stocks can be posted only to unrestricted use stock

Stock the receiving plant is updated immediately when they are issued

Movement type 351

Always with respect to a stock transport order

Stocks can be posted at the receiving plant to unrestricted use stock, stock in Q inspection and blocked stock

Once the stocks are issued at the issuing plant, these can be monitored at the receiving plant as stock in transit (Use tcode MB5T or in MMBE stock overview this stock appears as stock in transit)

Entire process can be monitored through PO history

goods receipt can be posted to the consumption

STO is integrated with MRP. Purchase requisitions generated by MRP can be converted into stock transport orders
