Apply a variable at Break level

I have report consisting of Physician,Department,Metric,RateOfMetric, Rating Scale. One Physician in some cases belongs to more than one department hence i created a break a Metric level so that user can see the performance of the Physician for a Metric irrespective of the department.

I wanna know how to apply a variable at the break leve which will be the Rating Scale at the break level.

Physician(ABC)--- Section applied

Dept Metric Rate Rating Scale

X A 80 2

Y A 95 1

Overall A 92 ? ---Break applied on Metric

Rate i calculated using the Num & Deno columns and then applied a sum for those columns and accordingly calculated the Rate at the break level. If use the Rating Scale object at the break level it gives #MULTIVALUE error.

Pls suggest some way around.

Thanks!

    Hello,

I am not sure exactly what you are saying, but try removing all sections/breaks from the report and see what it looks like. The #Multivalue error is telling you that you still have multiple values in the objects/variables which you are placing within the sections/breaks.

Once you remove them, see if you can tell what it is about Rating Scale that would give you #Multivalue. You must have multiple values within each section and break for Rating Scale which are causing the problem.

Also, check how you have Rating Scale defined - dimension, measure, or detail.

Finally you said "Rate i calculated using the Num & Deno columns". I am not sure what you mean there. Can you clarify?

    Thanks

      Hello VickyBobj,

Can you describe how you have Rate and Rating Scale defined? Is it a calculation based on Rate? Does all the data in the report come from one data source? Also, are they variables in the report, or objects from the universe?

      Thanks
