WebDynpro connectivity with Other DBs

I have a Business requirement.I need to pop out values from a Database(may be Oracle or Sybase or Peoplesoft DB) other than SAPDB in a WebDynpro view. All I know is WD can be communicated in MaxDB via modelling it through a JavaBean which has connection to the database. Is this the same way I have to do for other DataBases also.Kindly tell me how to go about.

If the DB like oracle or peoplesoft is a vendor specific one,do we need a specific vendor specific driver to connect it wo WebDynpro?

    Hi Guru,

You have to communicate to the DB via modelling it through JavaBeans. But you can create the datasource in the SAP WebAS using the Visual Administrator.

There are drivers provided by SAP for connecting to databases like Oracle or SQL server. But for Peoplesoft or anyother DBs you have to go with the vendor specific drivers. Even for Oracle or SQL server you can use the vendor specific drivers.

It would suggest you to go with the vendor specific drivers. So that you won't face any problem accessing with its native database.

    Hope this helps you.
