SRM Connectivity

Hi ,

I have a business scenario...where 2 srm boxes need to be connected to one R/3 box. In such scenario what are all the necessary thing that we need to do(config settings). Both the boxes will have the same components running. Any doc/white paper on this will be really helpful.

Regards

Sameer

    Hi,

Thanks for your prompt reply....but when we connect 2 srm boxes to one R/3 Box then what are all the implications...what i can see is that we need to do the following things (Basic settings,Number ranges, System connections, Master datat replication, Org Mgmt,Worfklow). If there are other implications which i have missed then do let me know

    Regards

      The 2 important things are

      1. Product Category ( Material Groups) replication-- you can connect to both the R3 Systems and replicate the categories.

      2. The follow-on document Creation ( like PR,PO, Reservation ) -- you can define which R3 system would be the destination for these documents based on the product category. Normally, the destination for the follow-on-documents and source for product category would be one and the same. you can decide to create local POs for some categories.

The Guides are available in https://service.sap.com/srm-inst. Navigate to SRM 7.0 and then use the link configuration Guides. You may start with the Basic Settings Guide .
