Machine Feed Counts

I have a report I am building which is a Plant Ticket/Job Ticket for manufacturing. This ticket has each machine listed on it that a job must pass through to be manufactured. I am stuck on one area of this ticket and that happens to be trying to get my machine feed counts to work. I start with a net sheet count and add to that all the make ready and run waste that is need for each operation. The total make ready and run waste is then added to the net sheets to get my gross sheet count to press for my first operation. What I am having difficulty doing is creating a formula to decrease my feed counts down the line for each subsequent machine operation thereafter.

    KellieR,

I hope I understand this right, but here goes....

It sounds like you have a process which might be job 1 goes to server 1 , count good on server1, count bad on server 1, then job goes to server 2, count good on server 2, bad on server 2, etc, then in the end you want a total count of how many there were, but the problem is that the good instances travelled all the way through all servers so you are duplicating the count of them, or there might be a good at server 1, that fails at server 2?

If this is correct, then what you should do is count the good at the last server, and add the bad from every server, which will give you the total of instances. (all that failed, and all that passed through every server)

If this is not helpful, or I have misunderstood the problem, please attach a copy of the rpt file to better explain the issue.

    Thanks,

    kyle

      Hi Kyle,

Here's a further explanation of my problem......

Machine #1 requires 1200 sheets of Make Ready and Run Waste.

Machine #2 requires 200 sheets of Total Waste

Machine #3 requires 200 sheets of Total Waste

Machine #4 requires 100 sheets of Total Waste

I need 10,000 Net Sheets to produce 40,000 boxes because the box runs 4 up on a sheet.

I need to add the total waste for each machine to my net sheets to get my gross sheet count to press for Machine #1 which would be 11,700. I've got that formula taken care of. What I am having a problem with creating a formula to deduct the waste for each machine from the gross as the job is produced. Ultimately what I want to appear on my report is the following:

      Feed Count

      Machine #1 = 11,700

      Machine #2 = 10,500

      Machine #3 = 10,300

      Machine #4 = 10,100

What I am trying to do is give each department the information of how many sheets they need to run through there machine in order to come up with the order quantity at the end of the manufacturing process.

I hope this better explains what I am trying to do..................
