astricks instead of the cost

Hello,

Gross Profit Base Price field should be automatically populated for stock items. it does, but it often shows

astricks instead of the cost. Why does it do this and how do we prevent it. It takes extra time to go into

the inventory master data for each stock item and look up the cost. If the astricks are not caught and fixed

at time of order entry, they show up on the cost of sales report.
