XI on business system

hello SDN

I've several times heard the question "why can't I install the XI on our business system"

In the installation manual it says newer to do so. But can someone give me a more technical reason why this is the case?

    Hi,

    one thing would be that XI needs to be installed on a UNICODE WAS640, e.g. most business systems are not unicode installs therefore XI 3.0 would not work. Also only myERP would have a base of WAS640, R/3 Enterprise is only WAS 6.20.
