Hi Friends,

I have successfully installed the sneak preview of SAP WAS 6.40 on our system but R/3 was not installed. When I went to SAP management console I have only seen system id J2E and when I tried to access using System host name and instance with SAP logon a session was not created. But when I installed SAP Mini WAS earlier it did create SAP linka as well excluding Netweaver studio..

Did I do something wrong?.please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Venkatesh,

You did not do anything wrong except The R/3 system is not installed with the sneak preview WAS 6.40. What you have installed is the J2EE engine upon which you may install Netweaver components such as the Enterprise Portal or XI.

You can run the mini WAS ABAP engine and the J2EE engine concurrently if you system can handle the load of having the two different engines running at the same time.

Hope this helps

Sasi, currently only the SAP MiniWAS 620 is available at http://www.sap.com/index.epx. Currently, as posted in the download overview here on the SDN there is a 640 Sneak Preview /w ABAP Stack planned but no information on availability yet. Tiest.

You're welcome, if you are looking for BSP functionality in a MiniWAS you require to install version 620 though. Kind regards, Tiest.

HI Sashidhar,

if you are using Linux, download the following from SDN which has ABAP and Java Stacks.

Technology Preview SAP NetWeaver 04 - SAP Web Application Server on Linux
