Problem with Netweaver Developer Studio 7.3 and LiveCycle Designer 9

Former Member

Dear all,

we have installed Netweaver Developer Studio 7.3 and LiveCycle Designer 9 with all the latest patches in our environment. While I am trying to edit an "InteractiveForm" in a Web Dynpro component I am getting the following error:

"Unable to locate WDAdobeControlSetup.msi; See the NetWeaver Developer Studio installation page for details."

Unfortunately I couldn't find any further information about this problem.

If I try to open the xdp file from the Resources/src/configuration/Component/[path]/[filename].xdp the editor shows following error:

org.eclipse.ui.PartInitException: The required plug-in com.sap.ide.adobelifecycledesigner is missing. Install all required plug-ins.

So after I couldn't find any further info about the problem, I have tried to install NWDS 7.2 and see what happens. LiveCycle Designer call from NWDS 7.2 was working fine. Funny thing after that I have tried it with NWDS 7.3 and it was also working. I tried the same installation order on the pc of a different colleague and verify it. So here it is:

1 Install NWDS 7.3 and apply all the updates

2 Install LiveCycle Designer 9.0 and apply all the patches.

3 Try to edit a InteractiveForm in NWDS 7.3 -> ERROR

4 Install NWDS 7.2 and apply all the updates

5 Try to edit a InteractiveForm in NWDS 7.2 -> WORKS FINE

5 Try to edit a InteractiveForm in NWDS 7.3 -> WORKS FINE

Hi Koray,

In the prerequisites of NWDS 7.3 installation appears it as a requisite in order to install:

Native libraries

The Developer Studio requires the following native libraries to be installed on the system:

Microsoft Redistributable Runtime DLLs VS2005 SP1 (x86), version 8.0.50727.4053 or higher

SAP RFC Library for 32-bit Windows

SAP Graphics Chart Control

SAP Webdynpro IDE Form Designer Control

Download the installers that are available through the links and execute them.

The library is the last one: SAP WD IDE Form designer control.

You can download it from this link: ht[https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/730/doc/prerequisites.html|https://nwds.sap.com/swdc/downloads/updates/netweaver/nwds/nw/730/doc/prerequisites.html]

I konw is late, but this is the solution!

Hello Maria,

I have been facing the same problem of WDAdobeControlSetup.msi unable to locate.

I am having NWDS whose version is

I want to use interactive form to display data in PDF format. I am having 3 setup files of Adobe lifecycle downloaded from SAP marketplace namely "50083078_1" , "97004499" and "01200615322000002026" . When i have tried to install it from the first mentioned folder, the installation stopped by windows because of some problem. The next two installation actually corrupted my already installed SAP GUI front end. I am very new to this environment and i want to know that what i am missing. Do i have to install any plugins, or any support files. Please do tell me all the required software which has to be installed to open the adobe livecyle after right clicking the interactive form and choosing EDIT from NWDS.
