Changing document contents in a different layout?

Hi,

I inserted a document for set of characteristics in a layout (Layout1) cell.

The same document can be accessed from a different layout(Layout2) for the same set of characteritics combinations but am not able to change the contents of this document from 2nd layout(Layout2). I could only able to see the contents of the document and the document has Read-only properties when accessed from Layout2.

How do i change the contents of document from Layout2?

Is document Layout dependent?

Hi,

Documents in SEM- (and BW-) BPS depend on the characteristic combination but not on the layout. Thus the documents can also be seen in a query as well. As documents are attached to a combination of characteristic values and a keyfigure value a document should be input on in a layout if the keyfigure value (or more precisely the combination of characteristic values and the keyfigure) is input on. Thus for example if your second layout is read only then also the documents should be read only. If in your second layout you can change the keyfigure but you cannot change the document attached to this keyfigure then I would recommend that you open a problem message.

Thanks so much for your reply.

In the 2nd layout, corresponding cell is not ready for input for the reason being document is not for editing purpose but read-only.

anyhow, your help is very much appreciated.
