How to delete ODS Active table?

Former Member

Hi All,

I have a unique issue. I have deleted an ODS with all its data. But the Infobjects that I used for that ODS are still in my system.

Now, I am trying to change a specific object that WAS used in the ODS that "I Deleted" to have length of 4 from 3 and when I try to activate it, it doesnt activate and gives error message - ERROR IN CONVERSION AND TABLES NEED TO BE CONVERTED. I looked into the error and the problem seems to be that the active table of the ODS that I deleted still has data and this infoobject is one of the data elements of that table. I assume that after I delete the data from the active table, I can activate the Infoobject after changing it.

Can someone help me with any ideas? Isnt the active table of ODS deleted as well when the ODS is deleted? My problem is how can I activate the infoobject ? without getting that table conversion error?

Thank you,

Reddy

Hi,

as Roberto has already pointed out the conversion can be done in SE14. But I think there may be a misunderstanding: I guess, you have deleted the data but not the ODS Object itself? Then the table exists and should be empty (check in SE16).

If the ODS Object is deleted, then the table doesn't exist anymore and you should not get a problem with this table, then you can make the change in the InfoObject.

Hi Reddy,

search your table in se11 (if this table really exists in data dictionary, delete it or use the SE14 or directly in the SE11 the database utility to do this conversion...)

but this is a very strange situation....
