Is there a way to progress an SFC upon the completion of a router step? I would like to progress the part number from A to B when completing a step.
I am working on a process that requires the Assembly part number to change upon completion of a router step. I need it to enter the operation as Part Number A and when the step is completed and PASSED then the part number would be progressed to B.
There is not an assembly action taking place nor a serial number change.

With SAP ME 5.2, you can automate the ChangeProduction process from your test environment by calling the ProductionServiceService Web service and execute the ChangeProduction request. With older versions of ME you can use the ProductionXML ChangeProduction request. I am not aware of any way to automate this from within the POD.

Brad,
I think ECO is what will allow you to do change production in POD. Check this help link:

Hi Bradley,
If you just need to change SFC ID to the next one in accordance with NN pattern, you can use Serialize SFC: define NN pattern for Serialize the same as for Release, and set GENERATE_ID = TRUE for PR550.

In case you want to change the name of component in BOM, you can try playing with ECO to change the BOM.
In case you want to change the child SFC already assembled into the parent SFC, then I believe you will need to remove the current and assemble the new component SFC via As-Built Config.
If my understanding still is wrong, please clarify your request.

Hi Brad,
If you want to change item number automatically at completion, I think ECO will help. I haven't reviewed this functionality recently, but as far as I remember you can define required change and attach an ECO activity hook to trigger the change.
