    Hi,

    the information about the two computers are a bit insufficient - they are in the same network, at least?! Is the dir structure from computer A mounted at computer B? If not, could ftp be one out of a thousand solutions?

    This way it doesn't work?

    URL url = new URL( "file://server/folder/file" );
    URLConnection urlCon =  url.openConnection();
    BufferedReader br =  new BufferedReader(
        new InputStreamReader(urlCon.getInputStream()));

    NFS could be another solution, see http://sys-con.com/story/?storyid=36122&DE=1

    Hope it helps

    Detlev
