Hi
We are trying to create indexes on a file system repeository. The index is created fine but when we are checking in the Trex monitor for status it does not look like it has carried out any indexing on the documents.I feel that there is a step in between that I forgot.
Can anybody please tell me the steps to create a index on a file system repository.
Or any suggestion about where to look for some information on indexes would be of great help.
We are in EP5.0Sp5
Thanks
Swetha
Hello everyone...
...with this or a similar problem.
Please open a support message to SAP and be prepared to grant remote access to your TREX and EP-KM servers.

Hi. Sorry, I wish I could give you a more promising answer. But we did nothing to the monitor. Good luck on finding the answer.

Hi Sebastian
My problem regarding the xCrawler exception is done. I installed patch3 for EP6 SP 9. I dont see anything any error in Crawler monitor. But in my TREX monitor --> Display Queue I see all fields as zero against my Index. I read that the 'OK' field should show the no of documents ready for search by TREX. But I find zero against all fields. I have done reindexing and also flushed my index. Still no change. I do beleive that there in no problem with my Crawler Monitor. Is there anything to be done with my TREX monitor? Could you resolve this trouble.
Thanks in advance
Piyush.
Hi Swetha,
If you check the index you have created in the "Index Administration" area, and click the reindex button, you should be able to then go to the TREX monitor, select "Change Queue Status" and flush the queue.
Once you have done this you can then go to "Display Queues" and see your resources moving through the TREX server.
The crawler monitor will let you know whether CM has finished collecting all the resources ready for transfer to TREX. Try changing the filter on the crawler monitor just in case the crawler has finished.
Depending on your system setup there maybe some time delay.
Let me know how you go.
Paul

Hi Paul
I am Piyush and I do face the same problem. I have reindexed and then selected "Change Queue status." In TREX monitor all fields are filled with zero. I dont find any resources moving through the Display Queue. I also dont see anything wrong in my Crawler monitor. My search results "No data found."
Could you help me in resolving this.
thanks in advance
piyush.
Hi,
You mention checking the TREX monitor, have you checked the crawler monitor to see if in fact the crawler started and if it is sending document to TREX.
Have you had this situation occur on any other indexes you have created?
The file system repository I usually build is a FSDB.
Without seeing your setup, it's hard to give you a one shot solution. But check your crawler monitor and see what is happening their first.
