Problem with variable restrictions

Here is the situation:

I have a characteristic that is restricted wit ha variable what chooses a node from a defined hierarchy. Is it possible to have a variable to restrict on just a certain value of this characteristic as well as the node selection?

When I put both variables into the restriction window in the query designer, I get this error:

"Variable ZSMRAM is complex ('selection option' or 'query' type). You cannot use any other entries in the selection".

Is there anyway to get around this?

I hope this makes sense and any help will be much appreciated.

    Hi Ian,

it sure makes sense. I'm afraid, there is no way around it (including both variables not possible) but you could restrict in the node variable your node plus your characteristic value as a second node (a leaf node, in this case).

    Regards, Klaus
