Print Page footer only on page 1

Hi

I know how to print page footer on page 1 only but it leaves useless blank lines on the subsequent pages

the whole point of printing only on page 1 is to save paper

the first page will have a header some detail rows and a footer which will have signing area

then page 2,3,.......will have the rest of detail data

but leaving the subsequent page footer balnk does not gain anything might as well print it on every page and get the customer to sign all the pages

Is it possible to acheive thi in crystal reports

surfed the web on this topic but no one knows the solution

regards

Lou

just suppress the page footer if it does not meet certain(for example Suppress if pageNumber is not equal 1)

hi

My page footer is a signing box about 4' high printing on legal

when you do what you suggested it only prints on the first page true

but on subsequent pages the area of the page footer is left blank

so might as well have it print on every page since the detail is not allowed to use the available 4 inches that was saved

by omitting the footer on subsequent pages

I know how frustrated you are I have had doc issues like this too.

The only way I could solve it was to add Footer data as a subreport and allow it to grow.

Place this in Footer and make both footer and subreport as slim as possible.

Hi Lou,

There are multiple ways to print the page footer and then hide them.

Can you explain how you are doing it?

hi Don

the first way I tried was to put a signing box on the pagefooter

then hi chose to suppress if panumber <>1

works but you get the the space for the page footer usesd up as a blank on each subsequent page

so not gaining anything in on the second page as far as showing more detail

so if this worked properly that would be the end of it but printing on legal size paper having the page footer printing on first page as it should and having 5 inches of blank on subsequent pages leave my costomers wondering why all this blank space

next I tried putting the signing portion on a group footer and that kind of worrks as longs a s there there is not toomush data for that group

if there say five rows of detail data for that group or one row of data for that group then the signing portion fully appears on the bottom

if there is 6 rows of data then I loose one line to my signing section on so on till the signing section dissapears

hope i have explained it

if not sorry

Hi Lou,

Even though this is CR for VS 2010 this basic functionality can be handled by the Report Design forum so I moved your post.

Lots of great people in here so Possibly someone here more adept at doing this will help you.

Thanks
