Hi Faisal,

If you have created QM order through transaction QK01, system automatically assigns it to the material master. This assignment is done inspection type wise.

Itu2019s a one time job. Whenever you do goodsu2019 receipts, system assigns this QM order to every inspection lot automatically.

However based on your requirement you may have different QM orders inspection lot wise. For having such control you need to tick on u201CIndividual Orderu201D checkbox in material master. Here system creates new QM order in background every time the new inspection lot created.

You also have the options to change, delete or replace assigned QM order.

Better if you discuss with cost accountant in what way you want the cost reports. Accordingly individual order or single order options can be chosen.

Hi Faisal,

Yes. You need to change it if you would be settling earlier order.

As far as my knowledge is concerned, order settlement is the final step. In fact the purpose of settling any order is not to incur any further cost on it.

Unlike production order, where there is compulsion to settle each and every order, QM order you can keep order open (unsettled) for any period. However you can get period based costing against the same order.

The decision when to settle it , totally depends upon what sort of reporting you require.

Perhaps your CO consultant can help you to understand detail insights about this.
