Error while trying to change settings in SALE

Hi

I am trying to trigger Idocs from QAS, ECC to XI. There are some problems with the settings.

I went to SALE -.> Logical System --> Define Logical System and reach " Display Logical Systems OverView screen.

Here under the Logical Systems, I don't see the name of the Logical System for XI QAS. I think this entry should be there, then only I can enter it next to Partner number in WE20. Is my understanding correct?

But when I try to add the Logical System name of the XI to the list, I am NOT able to do it. I don't see any option to edit it. The Dispplay- Change option under Table View is greyed out.

How do I change it and add XI system to it?

Regards

Hi,

You have to follow the below steps :

1. ask basis to provide the proper authorization, or let them do that.

2. once done provide the LS name of XI-QAS,

3. Go partner profile and provide your idoc type.

4. go to port and provide the port which will be followed..

5. configure the xi system, using the idx2, idx1 transaction.

7. replicate the structure in xi and configure your xi system.

8. trigger one idoc in ECC QAS and monitor the same in xi system.

HI

Can this be changed in SALE once the post installation steps are done? I mean is it possible for the BASIS guy to add the Logical System of XI without affecting the existing landcape?

Hi,

Did you get an information pop-up saying that its cross client and the SAP system is not modifiable?

I believe you would need to open the system for this change. Then you will be able to define a new logical system.

Hi,

Use the transactions SCC4 or SE06 to open the system.

If you are not authorized check with your Basis guy.

Hi,

This is a one time activity carried out at the time post installation activities and if you are working for an Industry and in XI then never do as this will screw up the whole system and this is basically a basis job. The error you are getting might be because of your userid don't have sufficient authorization to edit the changes.

Ask your basis team to provide the authorization. meanwhile keep in mind that this changes can affect to any existing scenerio if you are having previously...

Cheers,
