How to handle if deduction bigger than earning for staff who will resign

hi experts,

I have one question to ask. One of our staff resign this current month. However, he has to pay back company some amount because he tender

2 months earlier from our HR policy. The issue is, when I run payroll this month, his salary/earning he get less than his deduction.

The payslip show net pay 0 instead of -ve amount. I have advise our payroll admin to put the deduction same amount

as his salary and the balance being paid outside the system. But payroll administrator argue with me they because :

1. they need record to keep the actual amount staff should be paid as reference for future.

2. If they reduce the staff deduction as per his salary, it's like misleading info for them

The question is :

1. How the standard SAP cater this scenario.

2. IF I change the payslip to allow negative net pay, what happened when I post to Finance.

3. How about reporting and posting to Finance. I'm afraid the report will not balance.

appreciate your help
