Precompiler Runtime Version Upgrade (see also note 557227)

In order to apply SP38 on the MiniWAS you require a Kernel upgrade to level 1271. After having upgraded my kernel the application server is not starting anymore due to Workprocess errors (1 to 6): unable to connect. After looking at the log I noticed the following errors:

1 - Using non supported SAP DB precompiler runtime version 7.3.1.007

2 - Min. version for this release must be 7.3.1.010

I have tried to perform this upgrade using note 557227 but haven't succeeded.

As a workaround I decided to perform a SAP DB upgrade from release 7.3.0.28 to 7.3.0.52 but also here a failure during executing of SDBUPD: Database connection failed (my suspicion is, this is similar to the connection problem described above).

Has anyone experienced any of these problems and how did you get around it? Thanks, Tiest

    I can add to my remarks that note 557227 seems to provide a feasible solution however I can not execute the following command as outlined in the note since it is UNIX related. Tiest

      To make my problem even more strange, the note describes the following UNIX message that can occur:

      Warning: The specified driver does not exist.

      Error: The version number of the CPC driver is unknown.

      The thing here is that I am working on a NT machine so no solution is described for my problem..... Please someone help! Tiest

    Hi Tiest,

    You should be upgrading the SAPDB executables to 7.5 or the latest.
