Hello All,
Can someone explain to me what SAP does and does not support when customers modify the SAP standard mobile applications ?
Let's say you start with the standard download of the MAM application and modify this to your requirements. e.g. change the user interface to better suit using it on laptops than on PDA's for which the standard UI is built. Would SAP still support the modified MAM application in a productive environment ?
What are the restrictions on allowable modifications (if any) ? Is there a note that documents this ?
Does anyone have experience with this ? Do they actually notice it unless they connect from remote and use the mobile application themselves ?
Thanks for your time and effort,
Johan
Hello Johan,
AFAIK when a customer adapts a standard app (out of the "SAP Solutions for Mobile Business") to their needs, he still gets support for it, which is covered by the standard maintenance fee. If the problem is caused from the customer coding, SAP offers to help out for additional (consulting) money. So the customer can decide to do the problem solving on his own or pay the extra money.
Best,
Wolfgang
