Application.xml

I created a basic webdynpro application with just one text view, and tried to deploy and run it.

I get the following error :

404 Not Found

The requested resource does not exist.

Do I have to make changes to application.xml before i deploy and run a Webdynpro application?

my j2ee engine looks fine....

I do not get errors on rebuilding the project.....

When I deploy and run the application, the deploy is sucessful, but then I get an error that the requested resource does not exist.

Hi Armin,

Thanks for the quick reply.

I dont get build errors on rebuilding the project.

When I deploy and Run the application I get a pop up that says "Eclipse Autobuild must be switched On in order to allow the correct creation of a deployable archive. Do you want to Switch On autobuild."

When I Enable Autobuild the application deploys sucessfully. but when it tries to run the application I get an error that "The requested resource does not exist."

Is your server up and running? Open the "J2EE Engine" View and check if all traffic lights are green.

No.

Build your Web Dynpro project, check if there are any errors by looking at the messages in the "Tasks" view.

Check your server settings in the Preferences - SAP J2EE Engine section.

If everything is ok, run your application by selecting "Deploy new archive and run" from the context menu of the application node (in the Web Dynpro explorer view).
