Hi there.

Look, we have a really serious problem with this error message. I need to know what is the correct license server configuration process to guarantee that the license server authentication will work as it has to and that no error raises. We usually solve this problem adding all windows user accounts as administrators of the computer where the license server is running, but it is not a good network security practice. I tried to access the note, i did download it with the Download Manager, but i dont know how to read it, beacuse it is not a normal file. Please it's urgent to solve this problem and I really need help!!

Thanks!

Hi Cesar,

The scenario that we have is, we have a License server running on a diffrent machine and SAP B1 server running on another machine. what i was trying to do is connect the SAP B1 server to License server but i did not install any license server on the machine that runs SAP B1 server, hence the error.

After intalling the license server on the SAP B1 server and then using the license server to connect to the machine that run the actual license sever the problem was resolved.

Hope this helps

Hi César,

Please check out the Notes regarding problems with the license mechanism on SAP Service Marketplace listed in collective Note no. 776872!

There are at least two notes about the error code you encountered just with error texts.

Also note that the end of the licensing documentation file you can e.g. find on the product CD, there's a list of potential errors and reasons...

Frank,

New to SDN and dont have access to collective notes 776872, can you paste how we can resolve the issue of RPC server not available.

The problem is our license server is running on a windows 2003 server and SAP B1 server running on a another laptop in the same domain running Windows 2003 as well. When we start teh client it comes up with a Licesen server selection window. On entering the name of the computer or the IP it comes up with the error "License Error -2147023174 : RPC Server unavailable"

Hi Mitesh,

Collective notes are not shown into SDN.

To have a look to a note you must go to SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com ) and then to the specific topic Notes on http://service.sap.com/notes.

To access to all the information for partners you need a login or S-Number. You receive an administrator account when you become SAP partner, your administrator can then create S-Numbers for the members of your company who may need it.

In the SAP Service Marketplace you can have access to all published notes by SAP but there are also many interesting documents and also direct contact to SAP support.

Trinidad,

Thanks for your reply. But we are not an SAP partner yet, although our Parent company in Germany is. I solved the issue relating to the license by notes from the other posts.
