How to change Business Area in Asset Master

Dear Experts,

Is it possible to change business area in asset master data as we have the data transactions?

If yes, please advise us.

It is not possible to change Business Area,but

If cost center created without Business Area, with that Cost Center only you can SAVE Asset and you can change Business Area.

You can only change the Business area fields if they are are not managed as time-dependent otherwise you would not be able to change them. Go to AS02...Give in asset number...Go to time dependent tab..Click more interval button...Do not overwrite existing Business area..Add another interval.. And specify the business area.

We have done as per your advice before, however the business area field is grey thus can not be changed.

Hello Rudi,

This issue happens usually when the 'Business Area Financial Statement' indicator has been enabled in customizing. Hence, in your case, for changing of business area > use ABUMN to transfer from existing asset to a new asset master with new business area.

Dear:

Go to Asset accounting...Integration with GL...Additional account assignment objects... and check if your business area is marked as "balance sheet relevant"? If this is checked then you will not be allowed to change this accounting object in the asset master record after the first posting to the asset.
