B1toB1 - roll over UDF creation from a Head Office to all subsidiaries

Hi,

I am currently looking at what we can / can't do with the B1iSN for Sap Business One.

My company have a few instances of SAP Business one ( 14 + ) and the number is growing.

It start to be a challenge to have all instances aligned.

B1iSN would help us to actually enhance the support of them by rolling over Master data, EDIs, etc. but I was wondering if the B1iSN is capable of rolling the UDFs on creations?

If yes, would you be able to tell me which Biz object / Biz package we should look at?

Thanks for your help.

Regards, Yoann.

Hi Yoann,

Sorry but I don't fully understand your question. I'll try to answer anyway.

B1iSN comes up with some out of the box scenarios for B12R3 and B12B1 exchanges, please have a look to the B1iSN page for more details: https://service.sap.com/smb/sbo/b1i

If you are asking about the UDFs synchronization for the existing scenarios you will need to open the corresponding scenarios and add your UDFs transformation between the sender and the receiver system as the out of the box scenarios are of course defined with a standard B1 database.

If you are planning to develop your own scenarios then you will define which objects (and of course per each object which fields) are copied from the sender to the receiver system, then you can work with your UDFs as any other field in the object/database.

If you are planning to develop new scenarios please consider using B1if instead of B1iSN. You can find some webinars about B1if in the PSD calendar (SMP login required): https://psd.sap-ag.de/PEC/calendar/

Trinidad.

Hi Trinidad,

First of all, thanks a lot for your response. I believe I am getting confused between the different B1iP, B1iF, B1iSN and B1iBC.

However, I think I found the answer to my question using your answer:

Creating a UDF in SBO triggers the object 152. This object is not handled by the default B1toB1 scenarios and would need to be developed using the B1iF ( I am right ? ). But through this development, I could then 'synchronise' databases between each other, as far as UDF Creation on tables is concerned.

Let me know if I am on the right track.

What I am after, is more an idea of what we can or can't do with B1i to assess our options.

Regards, Yoann.
