SU01 - Ticket Number to be logged

Dear All,

We are in a position to save the ticket numbers for the changes made to the user master records.

Could anyone please guide me to do the same.

I have tried to enhance using a BADI - HRBAS00INFTY, but ended up in vain.

This task will be helpful for us during audit.

Thanks,

M.Thiyagarajan

We had this issue several years ago and our only solution was to use an existing field that would allow us to compound ticket numbers and the field could not be in use. Our solution was to use the Phone Number field on the Address Tab

That is a surprising choice... (even more so than the article mentioned before). The Phone Number fields are rather complex and tricky.

Did you use the international dial-code, number and the extension to build a gloabl country specific numbering convention for the tickets?

Also I would be interested to know what happens to the history of the telephone number when the next ticket is opened?

Now-a-days you can do a lot of funky stuff with IdM and GRC-CUP workflows. That is an option worth looking into before "doctoring" SU01.

Julius

We are still on 4.6C and have been using the fax and telephone fields for about 8 yrs now without issues. Our Ticket number format is either 123456789/2011 or ABCD123456. You can extend the fax and telephone fields and to enter more numbers using the arrow on the right of the field. I'm not sure if there is a limit on the number of entries, I see 12 rows, but we have never run into this issue on the number of tickets. There is also another part that I like with it is there is a comment field as well. I just took a look at the two fields you mentioned Country is at random and so is Country Code, we use for the most part IT for Italy and +39 for CC.

One thing that has confused me to this point is traceability. Is there a way to link back to the changes made in SAP to a ticket number in GRC? What I have been doing is reviewing ID's and Change Documents then doing the search for the ticket in GRC, is this the right way?

Okay, now I think I understand.

You add a new telephone number at each ticket.

GRC won't know about the use of this field so I doubt a remote enabled search help will be available for the numbers. Haven't tried either though.

Very creative idea

Hi Chris,

nice idea. Just a quick question. Have you chosen fax and phone field just because they are on the main screen and you can directly see on the main screen? Because SAP has other communication methods such as Telex or Teletex which might be more suitable for storing additional info. I've never seen user with Telex number. The only issue seems to be that you have to click on button "Other communication...". I guess it would be safe to change description from Telex to Ticket in table TSACT.

SU01 - Other Communication method

Hi ..

I feel Accounting Number is more useful field as we can get chenge document for the respective upadte . which is not available for communication fields .

In one of my earlier projects, we used account number from SU01 from Logon data tab. You can use this field to update with change ticket information as long as you don't need account number information in user master data. The advantage of this field is we will have change logs for account number and gets the change ticket number and date from user master change logs.

HI Thiaga,

i am using 'Telex' field in Other Communications Tab in SU01. This field is available in every system(ECC, CRM, BI,...) and can accomodat any character/number/alpha-numeric.... you can addany no. of tickets no.s to this field.
