getting data into Infocube

I added master data fields to infocube structure and activated and saw the data. This cube was getting data from an ODS.

I needed to delete few of these objects(i deleted the data in the cube before i did this)and then when i selected update data in data target from ODS,The updata rules were switched off and when i tried to activate these they are not activating even if the data is present in ODS.

Do i have to rescedule the data load to ODS and then try again?

What is the logic behind this?

I thought we can work with master data objects easily.

    Hi Haarika,

what's the error message for which you are not able to reactivate your update rules ???

When you say that you added master data fields to an infocube, this means you added some chars ?

However, if you add something in a cube, then, delete the content, delete some chars, reactivate the this point, you should be able to reactivate the update rules too !!!

Did you change something in the ODS ?

There are something in your update rules that still refers to the deleted chars ?

    Let me know....

      Hi Haarika,

I think its a design issue. It depends upon your requirements. If you want to see the newly created nodes in the drilldown of an already existing hierarchy, you should include them as attributes of the custom hierarchy. This is what i understood from you question. Hope it helps. If not, Please be more clear.
